You write so well! I enjoyed hearing the ...Suzanne,
You write so well! I enjoyed hearing the story of your journey of change and what that looked like for you. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed hanging out with you guys this summer. I too enjoy the Jesus is Calling Devotional book and it amazes me the power that little book packs!
It has spoken to my heart many times as if it was just for me!
I loved the description of surrender to change you described and once there...... Beauty and wonder could be seen and enjoyed! I wonder how much I have missed by struggling with the change instead of surrendering to it? So glad to get to share in your journey through your blog, looks beautiful there!
Carriage House Rest, LLChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00796818979478883639noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1293474790933531774.post-47345133273767020282013-08-17T16:45:45.409+02:002013-08-17T16:45:45.409+02:00Suzanne, this brought tears to my eyes! How beauti...Suzanne, this brought tears to my eyes! How beautifully put. It wasn't "as if" God was speaking directly to you through that devotional; he really was. I know your boys will be stronger, more compassionate, and adaptable because of the experiences they are getting in different countries/cultures. And one day, maybe you'll get the stability you crave, and you'll have a greater appreciation for it rather than the boredom I know many face at being in the same place year in and year out. This morning I was reading one of my favorite verses...one I keep being reminded of: "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:6-7 NLT) Easier said than done, I know...but what a promise! And better than that, I'll be praying for a continued spirit of excitement, adventure, and awe at this part of your journey. I read, somewhat randomly, in Haggai where "the Lord sparked the enthusiasm" of his people and reminded them that he was with them (Haggai 1:13-14). I loved that so much. I'm claiming that for the both of us as this new year unfolds. :) Love you and your sweet family!Emily W.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16993926889267881590noreply@blogger.com
